…And Then Some

by Mike Vardy

Stuff. Things. To-dos. They are all on our plates…every day.

Some are big, some are small. Some are project-sized, some are bite-sized. Some have been started but not finished…yet. Some have been started and will never be finished.

When you have too much of these “somes”, then you had best keep an eye on them. Because “somes” can become “lots” very quickly, and “lots” are very difficult to manage if you don’t know how to keep an eye on them when they are just, you know, “somes”.

The things, the stuff, the to-dos…they will get away from you sometimes. The key is to recognize when sometimes because “moretimes”.

You have to pick your spots. The key word in the phrase “time management” isn’t time, but management. You can’t control time…but you can control management.

So take some time today to look at what you’ve got on you plate. Do you have a lot of “somes” or just enough? How do you feel when you look at the things, the stuff, the to-dos you have on your plate? Make note of that feeling, and then do something about it.

Because you can do a lot with some, but you can only do some with a lot.
